The one question I hate being asked is what I do for a living, or am I working, or going to school. I am a writer, but just getting started. Had one short story published, but it is my dream to get more writing published. When I say that I am a writer, people tend to not take that very seriously. They just say, “Oh that’s nice.” Then they change the subject. Some people do take it seriously, and ask me more about what I like to write and things. But, mostly they don’t. When you say that your career is writing, it’s like they are disappointed that I am not doing more in life. Some great authors are well known, and people read their books, but if they were asked that question in the beginning of their journey, I think they would get the same responses as me, and it is sad. I love writing. I was born to write. Writing is my passion. Why can’t that be as good as any other career?

    I strongly dislike being asked about my age due to the tendency of people to categorize individuals based on their age. Whether deemed too young or too old, there seems to be a predetermined set of expectations associated with each age group. If considered too young, one may be dismissed for lacking life experience. Conversely, if one reaches a certain age, they may be unfairly judged as being too old to acquire new knowledge. This type of age discrimination seeks to confine individuals within certain limitations. Instead, we should allow people to live freely and embrace their true selves. There is much to learn from one another.

      I so agree with you about that. I am 45 years old and the younger people see me as “too old to know anything” and that is so not true. Age is just a physical age. Sometimes our emotional or mental age can be different. I tend to get along more with the younger individuals, and people who are my age or older don’t understand that. It is definitely another question I hate being asked, lol.
