What motivates you?

When I feel sometimes that nothing is ever going to get better, or I feel overwhelmed by depression, looking back at where I was 10 years or 20 years ago, makes me know that things are changing. I was much less stable years ago then I am today. My therapist says healing is a process, and that she has seen me make huge progress over the years, so when darkness fills my heart at times, I just have to look at how dark things were in the past, and then I can believe and hope that someday, I will be totally free of my past, free of my suffering, and free to live life however I want to live life. Focusing on my dreams, knowing my purpose in life, and being at peace with myself, inside and out. That’s what motivates me and gives me hope.
