Oh, this quote from George Addair was to me very powerful.

Fear has been the way I have always existed. Fear about change, fear about rejection, fear about hurt, fear about being myself, and the list goes on. It’s been the story of my life.

I have let fear get in the way of my healing, as well as pursuing my dreams, and being my authentic self. Fear has crippled me for most of my life.

I am finally starting to push through the fear, despite its intensity, trying hard to step out of my comfort zone, learning what the root of my fear is, and challenging those beliefs.

Is it easy? Hell no! Do I ever feel like giving up? Of course, but I keep pressing on as hard as it is. Sometimes it takes strength that I never knew I had to push through.

There are times I just need a break from things; a break from working on things, and that is okay as long as I am willing to come back to it after I have had a break.

I desire a life of peace, happiness, faith, and the freedom to be who I am meant to be. Those are the things that are on the other side that I need to push through the fear to get to.

I sometimes have a bit of hope that I will get there, and sometimes I need my therapist to hold on to it for me when I don’t. My hope is growing little by little, so I am seeing progress.

Can anyone identify with this? What has fear kept you from doing, and what will it take to push through that fear? Think about it and leave your comments to this post.

  1. I guess sometimes I fear/lack courage to do certain things because I hesitate, questioning how I will look or if I will be able to do it well. I should practice just going for it and not holding on too much to any mistakes.
