In sacred texts of God’s word,

Condemnation is a crushing shadow.

A loving God, yet judgmental the same.

His children shoot hateful arrows.

A soul conflicted in the mixed truths.

A heart that is shamed among brothers and sisters.

They preach love with confusing half-truths.

Doctrine’s chains of condemnation.

“Abomination” they call me.

Somehow, I will hear a voice of love.

To break the chains of bondage; to be free.

The creator’s hands wove me in my mother’s womb.

Why then should I be labeled shameful?

They agree that God knew us before we ever were born,

but their conditional love is so painful.

One day I will find that answers,

One day I will find the love I seek.

Unlike some I don’t boast who I am in pride,

My spirit is humble and meek.

I still long to know a God of love and grace,

not hateful and judgmental.

I seek clarity and the truth of a God

who is kind and gentle.
