This quote from Edwin Elliot is something I have wrestled with day in, day out. I have been plagued by feelings of inadequacy most of my life, and only now beginning to believe that I have value.

I grew up feeling that invisible, lost, and without purpose, believing I wasn’t smart enough, trapped in darkness , despising my reflection, and plagued by countless other doubts.

The idea I have something valuable to offer the world has seemed out of reach. I am learning, however, to challenge those negative voices, but doing so is incredibly hard.

When I step back, I realize that I must separate myself from these voices in my head. If someone else had endured the same struggles I had, would I dare speak such harsh words to them?

My healing journey is a winding path. Some days, old ways of thinking trap me, leaving me in despair, but increasingly I am breaking free. Acknowledging my progress lights up my hope, illuminating the road ahead.
