Anything that expects me to sit still for a long time pretty much loses me: sermons, college lectures, even most movies. I have ADHD, so ‘please sit quietly for ninety minutes’ feels less like worship and more like a hostage situation. the weird part is I do have faith — I’m reinventing my christianity into something like brian mclaren’s stage‑four, love‑centered faith, not the literalist, rule‑heavy version most churches preach, and sometimes I feel guilty that sermons bore me when they’re meant to tell the stories I actually believe. The one huge exception to my boredom rule is the Scream movies. I am absolutely thrilled about Scream seven, and it excites me enough that I will voluntarily glue myself into a theater chair for two hours. yeah, being a christian who fangirls over horror movies sounds contradictory to some people, but that’s just who I am.
