Embracing who I am
In a world that demands conformity,
I stand unapologetically true.
For I am gay, and that’s who I will be,
I will no longer hide from you.
It doesn’t matter who I love, you see,
my heart knows no boundaries.
You might call it a sin, but I know God accepts me.
Or you might call it a result of bad memories.
But all of that is so untrue,
for I am God’s creation and free.
I am sorry if that offends you;
maybe one day you can see.
Here I stand confidently and true;
Shame holds me no longer.
Breaking down barriers that separate me from you,
Through the trials, I am growing stronger.
