Judge Not Lest You Be Judged
Chains that bind me so very tight,
judgment eyes that pierce my core.
They judge me behind my back,
but I am not going to let it crush me anymore.
The eyes of family and strangers alike,
while visibly putting on a smile,
Trying to fool me that their acceptance is true,
but their true hatred goes the extra mile.
You can’t lie to cover what I see,
for actions speak louder than words,
and what I see on the sidelines,
speak the words not heard.
Your eyes shoot daggers at my heart,
for I see underneath your so-called love.
What did I do to deserve this hate?
I wish I could fly away like a dove.
