Light shines bright amidst the darkness,

It lies deep within my soul.

As dark clouds threaten to consume me,

hope shines bright as the snow.

My leaves like the fall may come down,

I may not remember that soon it will end.

Summer will come before I know it.

My broken heart will heal and mend.

For even though the shadows haunt the night,

and I cannot see any hope.

The morning light will rise again,

I will, through the pain, be able to cope.

The world might shout like roaring thunder,

and threaten my will to live.

I will find my strength to rise above,

with a heart that has a lot to give.
