This quote from Andy Warhol is something I am definitely learning to do for myself. He says, “You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.”

The reason this is so important is we often seek out an adrenal rush to bring thrill into our lives. I know I used to have a seasonal pass to great America in a time when my life was emotionally unstable.

I sought out days of adrenal rush to give me some thrill in my turbulent life. Now that I am older and my life has been stable most of the time, I am appreciative of the simple things because they bring me peace.

The simple things of going on a walk in the fresh air, taking a bubble bath, listening to relaxing music, or watching a show or movie. I can now enjoy those things even when I have days of instability.

Maybe it is part of being young that the world seeks thrill in big things, and find relaxation boring. I am not sure we can do anything about that for most people.

People don’t usually slow down in life until they get older. It didn’t happen for me until I got into my 40s. I am now 46 and within the last year and a half, I am finally learning to slow myself down and enjoy the little things.

If you are young and understand this and apply it, consider yourself lucky. It took me half a lifetime to learn this.

Here’s a beautiful quote from my Gratitude app to brighten your day 😇 https://gratefulness.page.link/yqbs

  2. enjoying the simple things is a good thing, one I am learning to do too but that I didn’t do until I was in my 40’s either!
