Dear Love,

As complex as the divine,

you have many different faces.

You can generate pain beyond measure

and joy in many phases.

Love, you have the capability

to break a heart into pieces

You have the potential to heal

pain that never ceases.

As a ship’s anchor so deep and firm

sturdy as tree roots power.

You can weaken the strongest soul,

like a fragile flower.

I long for you to sweep me away.

To be my knight and shining armor.

Yet my weakened heart fears

that you are a deceitful charmer.

Why must you be so complex,

like a puzzle with many pieces?

You can be the rock that holds me.

My soul’s centerpieces.
