From my 21-day challenge book, it has 21 days’ worth of writing challenges to help in writing your memoir. The book is called, “Throw up your Emotions on Paper: a 21-day Challenge.” Here is the day one challenge:
Day One:
Tell us about an event that made you very angry. Show your feelings…
I desperately tried to free myself from the grip of my girlfriend’s arms as she restrained my urge to grab the handle of the car door and jump out, knowing I would risk hurting myself by jumping out of a moving vehicle. My heart raced with clenched fists as I helplessly witnessed the drunken fight between Dee’s wasted friends and felt the electric surge flooding through my veins, threatening my sanity. My head swirled like a tornado, breaking every sense of connectedness to my mind. I knew I was trapped like a caged animal, and the only freedom was to give in to the darkness that shielded me from reality as another, stronger entity took over. I never knew what happened next or how I got home. The next morning, glancing at my wrecked car, I felt both empty and enraged. Approaching me from behind, Dee put her arm around me as I violently shook it off. My brain couldn’t comprehend the flood of emotions coursing through my body. “I am sorry,” Dee said, “I didn’t know this would happen.” My thoughts were as empty as an abandoned house with a haunted past that would linger forever.
