What’s your favorite thing to cook?

For this prompt, I don’t know if I have a favorite thing to cook yet because I have just begun to learn how to cook. I am 47 years old and my cooking skills need to improve. I am used to cooking meals in the microwave and that’s all.

Lately I have been cooking fish. Mostly Salmon and tilapia. It has turned out delicious so I must be doing something right. I have also cooked a steak, which also turned out perfect.

I am using Microsoft Copilot to teach me how to cook, but only basic things right now. I will move on to more complicated food. Once I get the hang of cooking the basics. Right now, I would say my favorite thing to cook is tilapia just because that is my favorite type of fish to eat.

I don’t always enjoy cooking. I didn’t grow up learning how to cook. Good thing I didn’t get married to someone who expected me to cook. I’m not married at all, but if I were to get married, I would hope that they would at least be a team with me in the kitchen. But who knows with practice I might actually learn to be a good cook.

  1. My husband never really expected me to cook because he already knew that before we got married. He’s actually a better cook than me and loves to flex it but he’s SUPER stingy when it comes to sharing tips or recipes 😑

On a daily basis, he’d rather let me order food delivery. But after a while, that kind of food gets boring idk why. So eventually, I had to start cooking just to eat what I actually wanted hence all the experiments in the kitchen.

I’d say learning to cook is actually quite easy nowadays especially with TikTok, YouTube, blogs, and all that.
But finding truly fail-proof recipes is the hard part (at least for me). Sometimes my cooking just doesn’t turn out the way it’s supposed to, like how it looks in the tiktok videos, y’know? 😩

    1. That’s great that he never expected you to cook. I know what you mean though about delivery food. That for me is a thing of the past. It did get boring lol and expensive! I haven’t actually tried a recipe yet, but I might get a beginner cookbook with easy recipes, if there is one. You know, something like cooking for dummies? LOL
