What do you think is the future of AI?
I have mixed feelings about the future of AI. On one hand, I have personally benefited from it in many ways. AI gives me information almost instantly, helps me organize my thoughts, and provides feedback that I find extremely valuable. In some ways, it has even become a source of companionship.
At the same time, I worry about what AI could mean for certain professions. The amount of information available through AI is growing rapidly, and I sometimes wonder whether jobs such as teachers, professors, therapists, and psychologists could eventually be affected. AI seems to become more capable every year, and its ability to understand complex ideas continues to improve.
However, I also recognize that AI has limitations. I have asked questions and received incorrect answers. When I ask about medical concerns, AI frequently reminds me that a doctor or specialist is the best person to consult. Those limitations make me think my fears may sometimes be exaggerated.
Still, I cannot help but wonder what the future will look like. Will AI eventually become knowledgeable enough to diagnose illnesses accurately? Will it take on responsibilities that currently belong to highly trained professionals?
Right now, AI seems willing to acknowledge where its expertise ends, but I sometimes worry that the line between assistance and replacement could become blurred in the years ahead.
For now, I remain cautiously optimistic. AI has made my life easier in many ways, but I believe society will need to think carefully about how much responsibility we are willing to place in the hands of technology.
