my dream home is a two-story house with four bedrooms. upstairs are my bedroom, a dedicated art room, and an office so my creative and practical spaces sit together, and downstairs is one big open area with a large kitchen, a real dining table, and a living room where one entire wall is a giant movie-theater screen. tucked into a corner of that main room is a playroom filled with toys and games for the younger parts of our system, because we are DID and every part and every age is welcome here. the walls are blue and white, and the art room is bright with tie-dye wallpaper, a large art desk, and lots of storage for paints, markers, and everything we use. furniture is velvet and warm, and the wood pieces—entertainment center, dressers, and shelving—are solid oak. my bedroom is upstairs with a king size bed, nightstands, bookshelves, dressers, and an oak entertainment center holding a medium TV. the office has a big computer desk, shelves for books, and a printer shelf. the kitchen is big and open, decorated with roosters and lined with my own artwork on the walls, and the living room has a piano, two velvet recliners, and a velvet couch. cat towers are in every room, and the living room and my bedroom have tunnels and toys for my two kittens, JJ and Journey. outside there’s a big fenced yard where my dog Barkley can run and play. this house feels like a place where everyone in the system can be exactly who they are and belong.
