The clouds in my heart creep in.

Dark colors blend in the rain.

The heavy stones in my chest

mark my soul in stains.

I miss the sunshine, bright and true.

I find no reason behind this grey.

It’s just the roller coaster of my life.

It’s the darkness bent to stay.

I go through the motions of life.

Pets taken care of, a house organized.

But the house of my heart remains a mess.

Who I am, I despise.

But inside, I am lost and rejected.

People judge and I believe.

Through the chains, I am bound.

My pain has no relief.

Still I know this:

I am not who they say I am,

but their accusations are real,

and I become a slaughtered lamb.

The stones in my chest

threaten to remain.

Will I ever be seen as me?

Will I ever be free of this pain?
